Authorities in Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai have been placed on high alert following the car blast near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station inDelhi, which killed at least eight people and left several others injured.
The cause of the explosion near the Red Fort is still under investigation.
Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said that the state DGP has directed all senior officials to intensify security at sensitive religious sites, key districts, and border areas.
“All security agencies have been alerted. Police in all districts have been put on high alert, with increased patrols and checks in sensitive areas,” Yash told ANI.
In Mumbai, security has also been tightened at public places and transport hubs as authorities across states coordinate efforts to prevent any further incidents.
