WPL 2026: List of players retained, purse left and more. Know here

As the Women’s Premier League (WPL) gears up for its 2026 season, all five franchises have revealed their list of retained players ahead of the much-anticipated auction on November 27 in New Delhi. 

Mumbai Indians-Women

The defending champions have held on to five key players – Nat Sciver-Brunt (₹3.5 crore), Harmanpreet Kaur (₹2.5 crore), Hayley Matthews (₹1.75 crore), Amanjot Kaur (₹1 crore), and G. Kamilini (₹50 lakh)

With this settled core, the defending champions will enter the auction with ₹5.75 crore left in their purse.

RCB-Women

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have chosen to retain their core group, keeping Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, Ellyse Perry, and Shreyanka Patil. Backed by these consistent performers, RCB will have ₹6.15 crore to strengthen their squad in the upcoming auction.

DC-Women

The Delhi Capitals have retained five players, focusing on a balanced combination of Indian and overseas talent including Jemimah Rodrigues (₹3.5 crore), Shafali Verma (₹2.5 crore), Annabel Sutherland (₹1.75 crore), Marizanne Kapp (₹1 crore), and Niki Prasad (₹50 lakh). They will head into the auction with ₹5.7 crore remaining.

UP Warriorz

In one of the biggest shake-ups, the UP Warriorz have retained only Shweta Sehrawat (₹50 lakh), releasing stars like Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, and Sophie Ecclestone. 

With a massive ₹14.5 crore left in the purse, the team is clearly eyeing a complete rebuild at the auction.

Gujarat Giants

The Gujarat Giants have retained just two overseas players – Ashleigh Gardner (₹3.5 crore) and Beth Mooney (₹2.5 crore).The franchise now holds ₹9 crore in its purse, giving it flexibility to make major signings.
