England announce 15-member squad for 2025-26 Ashes series

England on Tuesday unveiled their 15-member squad for the highly anticipated Ashes series against Australia, scheduled to begin later this year. Captain Ben Stokes will lead the side, with Zak Crawley, Joe Root, and Mark Wood among key players.

Joe Root’s presence as senior batter adds depth, while Jofra Archer and Mark Wood headline the pace attack. Will Jacks, Tom Atkinson, and Jamie Smith provide all-round and batting options, giving England a balanced squad for the challenging tour down under.

England’s white ball skipper Harry Brook has been appointed as Ben Stokes’ deputy replacing Ollie Pope.

  • 2nd Test (Day-Night/Pink Ball): Brisbane, 4–8 Dec 2025
  • 3rd Test: Adelaide, 17–21 Dec 2025
  • 4th Test (Boxing Day): Melbourne, 26–30 Dec 2025
  • 5th Test: Sydney, 4–8 Jan 2026

After the home series against India ended in a draw, the Ashes will prove to be a stern challenge for England, while Australia will look to retain the Ashes trophy.
