Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) on Monday, witnessed massive protests across the region with the residents demanding basic rights and accusing the Anwar Ul Had Kakar-led government of neglect and repression.
According to local media reports, at least one protester has been killed and several others injured as unrest intensifies.
The visuals showed huge crowds marching in multiple districts, chanting slogans against the current government and what they call the systematic denial of rights. The wave of protest spread quickly to Sara Mirpur, and Dadyal, reflecting discontent among people.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) unit in PoJK amplified the protests online, alleging “incompetence and repression” by the government.
PTI claimed that state-backed groups opened fire on peaceful demonstrators, leaving several seriously injured.
The party also accused authorities in Dadyal of creating humanitarian hardships by blocking the Plak Bridge, making it difficult for patients and citizens to travel abroad.
