Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that he is “scared” of former US President Donald Trump.
Speaking at a rally in Bihar’s Darbhanga, Gandhi urged Modi to publicly clarify that Trump is “lying about stopping the India-Pakistan conflict.”
Trump has repeatedly claimed that he used trade pressure and tariff threats to force India and Pakistan into a ceasefire during the clashes in May, which followed India’s Operation Sindoor.
The operation was launched after the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that killed 26 people.
India’s offensive targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
This is not the first time Gandhi has questioned the Prime Minister’s silence.
During a parliamentary debate in July, he had dared Modi to “call Trump a liar” over his mediation claims, saying, “If he has the courage, he will say it in Parliament.”
Trump, meanwhile, once again reiterated this week that his intervention helped avert a “nuclear war,” claiming he imposed trade threats to broker peace between New Delhi and Islamabad.Modi is scared or Trump is lying: Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks on Operation Sindoor
