On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah pledged that those behind the deadly car blast near Delhi’s RedFort will face the “strictest possible punishment.”
Shah further asserted that the verdict will “send a message to the world that no one should ever dare to think of such an attack again.”
While addressing the inauguration of the Moti Bhai Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School in Gujarat via video conferencing, Shah expressed condolences to the victims’ families and reaffirmed PM Modi’s resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Shah’s statements came a day after the Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, officially declared the Red Fort car explosion a “terrorist incident” and directed agencies to probe the case with “utmost urgency and professionalism.”
Meanwhile, investigators have recovered a red Ford EcoSport linked to prime suspect Dr. Umar Nabi from Faridabad’s Khandawali village.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe, forming a special team after preliminary findings pointed to a coordinated terror plot involving multiple vehicles and suspects.
