Deepti Sharma created history by becoming the first Indian cricketer, male or female, to take 150 wickets in T20Is, equalling Megan Schutt’s record to become the joint-highest wicket-taker in Women’s T20Is.
In her 4-over spell against Sri Lanka, Deepti took 3 wickets for just 18 runs, helping India restrict the visitors to 112 runs in their 20 overs.
The current No.1 T20I bowler, Deepti has been a cornerstone of India’s success, playing a key role in India’s first-ever Women’s World Cup triumph on 2 November 2025 and earning the Player of the Tournament award for her outstanding performances.
With a target of 113 runs to chase, India is poised to seal the five-match series, while Deepti’s form and experience will be vital for the team ahead of the Women’s T20I World Cup 2026.
