Two people were killed and one person was critically injured after a collision between a private car and a taxi near Delhi’s Siri Fort area in the early hours of Wednesday, police said.
The accident occurred around 4 am when the private car, allegedly driven by 21-year-old Krishansh Kapoor, rammed into the taxi. The impact of the crash was severe, leaving both vehicles badly damaged.
Two occupants of the taxi died on the spot, while another sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical, ANI reported.
Delhi Police said Kapoor has been arrested in connection with the incident, and the car involved in the crash has been seized. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, including whether speeding or negligence played a role.
