Delhi Police arrests woman driver in Dhaula Kuan BMW crash

The Delhi Police on Monday arrested Gaganpreet Kaur, 38, the woman accused in the fatal Dhaula Kuan BMW accident that claimed the life of a senior government officer. 

Kaur, a resident of Gurugram, was taken into custody from Nulife Hospital in GTB Nagar, where she was undergoing treatment.

The crash took place on Sunday near the Delhi Cantonment metro station when the BMW collided with a two-wheeler carrying Navjot Singh, 52, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, and his wife, Sandeep Kaur. 

The couple was returning from Bangla Sahib Gurdwara when the speeding car hit them. Singh died on the spot, while his wife escaped with minor injuries.

Delhi Police said Kaur has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Motor Vehicles Act. The case has sparked outrage, drawing renewed focus on reckless driving in the capital.
