GRAP-III restrictions revoked across Delhi-NCR as AQI improves

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Friday revoked all restrictions under Stage-III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across the National Capital Region (NCR), citing an improvement in air quality levels.

In an official order, the CAQM Sub-Committee said that actions mandated under Stage-III of the extant GRAP would be withdrawn with immediate effect.

However, measures prescribed under Stages I and II will continue to remain in force across the NCR to prevent further deterioration in air quality.

According to official data, Delhi’s air quality on Friday remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with the average Air Quality Index (AQI) hovering around 180.

Authorities attributed the improvement to favourable meteorological conditions and a sustained dip in pollution levels over the past few days.

The CAQM said it will continue to closely monitor the situation and review air quality trends on a daily basis. It added that stricter measures could be reimposed if pollution levels worsen in the coming days.
