Indian Embassy relocates 190 stranded passengers to safety amid Nepal protests

As reported by PTI, the Indian Embassy has successfully moved 190 Indian passengers stranded at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport to a safe location, amid the ongoing political and civil unrest in Nepal.

Nepal has been witnessing unprecedented upheaval in recent weeks following the government’s controversial social media ban, which triggered massive protests across the country.

Though the ban has since been revoked, the violent demonstrations have left several people dead, while protestors set fire to the Parliament building, the Prime Minister’s residence, and even the former Prime Minister’s house.

The situation escalated further with the resignation of Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli and the President, leaving the nation under the control of the army.

In this volatile situation, several Indians tourists found themselves stranded at the capital’s airport. Acting swiftly, the Indian Embassy ensured their safe relocation, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding Indian nationals amid Nepal’s deepening crisis.
