World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will once again lock horns in the US Open 2025 men’s singles final on September 7, adding yet another chapter in their growing rivalry.
The Italian powered past Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in a four-set thriller 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals. Alcaraz, meanwhile, showcased his dominance by defeating 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-2.
The clash has already scripted history, as Sinner and Alcaraz have become the first men’s pair in the Open Era to contest three Grand Slam finals in a single season.
Their rivalry began with a marathon five-hour, 29-minute French Open final where Alcaraz edged Sinner, followed by a Wimbledon showdown that saw Sinner dethrone the Spaniard to capture his maiden Wimbledon title.
Sinner, the defending US Open champion, will aim to retain his crown, while Alcaraz seeks a sixth career Grand Slam.
Remarkably, the last seven grand slam majors have been split between the two, underlining their dominance over men’s tennis.
