U.S. President Donald Trump has reacted to the stabbing incident involving former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez, calling it “too bad” and describing Sanchez as a “nice guy.”
Speaking on Newsmax TV’s Greg Kelly Reports, Trump said, “I don’t know what happened. Something bad happened, something a little crazy happened. I can only report that he was a nice guy; I know him a little bit.”
Sanchez was arrested in Indianapolis over the weekend after allegedly assaulting a truck driver during a dispute over parking.
According to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, he faces charges of unauthorized entry of a vehicle, public intoxication, and battery with injury.
Prosecutor Ryan Mears said the altercation began outside a hotel’s loading dock and escalated into violence, resulting in significant injuries.
Sanchez was hospitalised with stab wounds, and his next hearing has been postponed to November 4.
