Amid the ongoing Bihar assembly elections, an X post by a woman identified as Urrmi has gone viral after she allegedly claimed to have voted in both Maharashtra and Bihar.
Her posts, one from May 13, 2024, stating, “Go Vote, Pune! Voted for a Modi-fied India!” and another from November 6, 2025, reading, “Voted for a Modi-fied India! Jaai ke Vote daali, Bihar!” triggered a political storm on social media.
Congress cites it as proof of fraud
Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil shared screenshots of both posts, alleging voter manipulation.
“I will vote in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha. I will vote in Bihar in the Vidhan Sabha. I will steal votes for Modi,” he captioned sarcastically, claiming the posts supported Congress’s ongoing “vote theft” allegations.
User’s clarification
However, social media users and fact-checkers suggested that Urrmi’s second post was sarcastic.
The woman herself later clarified that it was a joke aimed at mocking the election narrative and not an admission of voting twice.
Rahul Gandhi’s ‘H-Files’ claims
The controversy follows Rahul Gandhi’s “H-Files” series, where he alleged large-scale voter fraud in Haryana.
Earlier, he shared a photo of a Brazilian woman, Larissa Nery, claiming her image appeared 22 times in Haryana’s voter list, a claim later debunked after Nery confirmed the picture was an old modeling photograph.
The first phase of Bihar assembly elections concluded yesterday and the second phase of elections will be on 11 November, results to be out on 14 November.
