All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday hit back at political strategist Prashant Kishor, who had advised him to stay out of Biharpolitics and focus on his Hyderabad constituency.
Addressing three election rallies in Bihar’s Kishanganj district, Owaisi said, “I have been coming here (Seemanchal) to show all leaders what you have done to Bihar.”
Owaisi accused successive governments, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, BJP, and Janata Dal (United) of failing to improve Bihar’s per capita income, which remains the lowest in the country.
“Nitish keeps changing, but I am still the same as I was 11 years ago when I first came here,” he said, asserting his long-term commitment to the region.
Kishor, during his campaign in Kishanganj on Tuesday, had remarked that “sons of Seemanchal should be leaders of Seemanchal,” urging voters not to “repeat the mistake of 2020.”
The AIMIM, which won five Seemanchal seats in the 2020 polls, has fielded 25 candidates this time, 14 from the four Muslim-majority districts of Purnea, Katihar, Araria, and Kishanganj.
Seemanchal votes on November 11, with counting on November 14.
