Nitish Kumar thanks voters after NDA’s sweeping victory in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to voters after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) recorded a sweeping lead in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections

In a post on X, Kumar said the people of Bihar had “expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a massive majority,” while also thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA allies Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha for their united campaign.

According to the latest trends, the NDA has won 205 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan has managed just 32.

The BJP has emerged as the single-largest party within the alliance, winning more seats than the JD(U), raising new political questions about the leadership structure going forward.

With the NDA yet to announce its chief ministerial face, speculation has intensified over whether Nitish Kumar will continue in the top role or whether the BJP,  buoyed by its strong performance will push for its own chief minister.

Despite the uncertainty, Kumar said the decisive mandate would accelerate Bihar’s development trajectory.
