The newly formed Bihar government on Friday announced the allocation of portfolios to its 26 ministers, a day after Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Chief Minister for a record 10th time.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has been handed the Home portfolio, a department traditionally held by the Chief Minister for decades.
Nitish Kumar has retained General Administration, Cabinet Secretariat, Monitoring, and all departments not allocated to others.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha has been given the Land and Revenue Department along with Mines and Geology.
Senior BJP leader Mangal Pandey will handle both Health and Law departments, signalling the party’s increased administrative footprint. State BJP president Dilip Jaiswal has been allocated the Industries portfolio.
In the new cabinet, the BJP holds 14 ministerial berths while the JD(U) has secured eight, reflecting the alliance’s post-election strength.
