Delhi Police arrests 120 drug peddlers, seizes narcotics worth lakhs

 In a massive crackdown against narcotics and organised crime, the Delhi Police arrested 120 drug peddlers and seized a substantial cache of narcotics along with ₹21 lakh in cash under Operation Kavach 10.0, officials said on Monday.

 The 24-hour operation, launched on September 20 ahead of the festive season, spanned over 2,000 locations across all 15 districts of the national capital.

According to Special Commissioner of Police Devesh Chandra Srivastva, 1,140 police teams, including units of the Crime Branch and Special Cell, carried out the coordinated raids.

 A total of 96 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The seizures included 158.9 grams of heroin, 40.2 kg of cannabis, 108 grams of cocaine, and ₹21,08,400 in cash.

Among the major arrests was Sangeeta Devi from Dwarka, allegedly a key player in the local narcotics trade, caught with over 8 kg of cannabis and ₹21 lakh in cash. 

In Uttam Nagar, another woman, Barkha, was held with 27 grams of heroin. 

In South Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar, police arrested 48-year-old Vinod with 2.7 kg of cannabis, who later revealed his supply chain links in Jal Vihar.
