Delhi Police have intensified digital monitoring and citywide surveillance as investigations into the deadly Red Fort car blast gain momentum, officials confirmed on Friday.
Specialised teams are now working round-the-clock to scan social media platforms for conversations, reactions and potential leads linked to the attack, which killed 13 people on Monday night.
As per police sources, digital monitoring units are vigorously tracking public posts, comments, videos and online discussions to trace any signs of radicalisation, misinformation or suspicious online behaviour.
“Any potential lead will be immediately flagged and shared with field teams for verification,” a senior police officer said.
Simultaneously, all district police units have been directed to intensify scrutiny of CCTV footage across markets, transit routes, border points and sensitive installations.
Investigators are probing the possibility of coordinated attacks planned across four cities by what they describe as an interstate “white-collar terror module.”
The main suspect, Dr Umar Nabi, who drove the explosive-laden Hyundai i20, was tracked using over 50 CCTV cameras.
Police say Nabi and his associates, Dr Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr Shaheen Shahid, allegedly used encrypted apps, pooled over ₹26 lakh and bought 26 quintals of NPK fertiliser to manufacture IEDs.
