Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday cautioned Pakistan to stop supporting terrorism if it wants to “retain its place on the world map.”
Addressing soldiers at Anupgarh in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district, he declared that the restraint shown by India during Operation Sindoor “will not be repeated in any future conflict.” He said India is “fully prepared this time” and will act decisively if provoked.
Call for preparedness
Urging soldiers to stay ready, General Dwivedi said, “Keep yourselves fully prepared now, if god wants, the opportunity will come soon.”
Stressing the importance of vigilance, he added that India had exposed terrorist hideouts in Pakistan, asserting that without New Delhi’s intervention, these would have remained concealed from the world.
Operation Sindoor and its impact
Referring to the May 7 strikes, codenamed Operation Sindoor, Dwivedi said India specifically targeted terror camps after the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
The operation struck nine terror sites, seven by the Army and two by the Air Force, eliminating over 100 terrorists. Pakistan was forced to request a ceasefire on May 10.
The army chief reiterated that India had no quarrel with ordinary Pakistanis but warned that Islamabad’s continued support for terrorism would invite strong military retaliation.
